After overcoming my eating disorder, it was a further nine months before I actually told anyone about my experience and another two before I set up my Justgiving page and shared my story. Over the past five years I have been inundated with (literally) hundreds of supportive messages from friends, family, other runners and strangers alike.
I hope my experience offers encouragement to anyone else suffering from an eating disorder, and shows that as scary as it may seem to talk about what you are going through, there is so much support out there if you are willing to share your experience with others. You can find lots of useful resources over at trainbrave.org.
Now five years into my recovery, I work full-time for parkrun in Twickenham, and live in west London with my wife Coralie. I can often be found running along the Thames Path and around Bushy Park.
It would be great to hear from anyone who has been affected by my eating disorder story, or if you or your company would like to support me with my ultra running ambitions and aspirations, or if you simply want to go for a run together!
